Everett J. Sixbury, 75, lifelong resident of Evans Mills, retired school bus driver for Indian River Central School, died Tuesday evening in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown.

Mr. Sixbury was critically injured June 27 in a two-vehicle accident at Route 26 and the Elm Ridge Road in the Town of Philadelphia. He had been a patient in the hospital since that time.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Frederick Brothers Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frances Grauman, pastor of the Evans Mills Presbyterian Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evans Mills Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Evans Mills Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Fund.

Surviving are a brother, Kenneth, Evans Mills, and nieces and nephews.

A sister, Ella Mae Sixbury, died before him.

Born in Evans Mills on Aug. 23, 1914, a son of John and Ednah Bolton Sixbury, he was a graduate of Evans Mills High School and Deibert's Business School, Philadelphia.

Mr. Sixbury was engaged in farming with his brother, Kenneth, for many years. He was also owner and operator of the Cedar Post and Fencing Business.

Mr. Sixbury was employed as a school bus driver for Indian River Central School, Philadelphia, from the mid 1950s until his retirement in 1971.

He was a member of the Evans Mills Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years.
