Wedding-Miss Mary Conkling, of this village, was married to Mr. Benjamin Wands of Chatham Centre, on Sunday last. The happy couple started on the evening train for Albany and other places, on their wedding trip. They take with them the best wishes of their many friends in this community for their future happiness.

The remains of Benjamin Wands, aged 49 years, who died of pneumonia last Friday at the House of Mercy, Pittsfield, were brought here for burial in the family plot in Rural cemetery, Monday after funeral services at the home of his sister, Mrs. Edward Babcock in Canaan. He is survived by a wife, two sisters, one brother, and six children, Harry J., of Kingston, Mrs. J.K. Havens, Miss Lula A., and Miss Estella of Pittsfield, and Bernard and Bertram of New Lebanon. He had many acquaintances in this neighborhood where he resided and worked at the paper mill, when run by the Bullis’ for many years. The casket was opened at the grave where the last and rites were performed by Rev. Mr. Campbell of Canaan.
