RECTOR -- Bert Edmond Sigsby, 78, of Rector died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. The owner of Sigsby Insurance and Real Estate in Rector and General Insurance of
Leachville, he was a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of
Arkansas, which he served as president in 1969-1970. He was appointed by the Governor of Arkansas in 1971 to a three-year term on the Real Estate Commission. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Rector. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Sigsby; two sons and their spouses, Steven and Lark Sigsby of Rector, and Kevin and Pamela Sigsby of Richmond, Ky.; two grandchildren, Marshall and Natalie Sigsby of Rector; and four sisters, Oneida Tull of Little Rock, Lyndall Hardin of Jonesboro, Janelle Viertel of Boonville, Mo. and Glenna Bookout of Rector. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at the First Baptist Church in Rector with Rev. Ardell Polk officiating. Irby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
