On line cemetery inscriptions at the Jefferson County GenWeb site incorrectly give the date of death for Robert and his wife. Robert's being given as 1855, and his wife as 1848, but both appear in the 1850 census. https://sites.rootsweb.com/~nyjeffer/barles.htm

NOTES: The following is presented to show the possibility that Robert Sixberry may have been descended from this family who were present, along with the family of Manassa and Pietertje Jonkers Sixberry, in the Mohawk Valley area of what is now Montgomery County.

Mrs. Robert Sixbury of the town of Leray is 108 years old. The old boy has camped out more nights in the North Woods it is stated and killed more deer than any other man in the state but his sight now is as clear as any man of half his age. He was born in Herkimer county. Another chip off the same block, a young man of 102 years, visited his big brother Robert some three or four years since.

Robert Sixbury, Town of Leray, celebrated his 108th birthday on March 7. Born in Herkimer, he was a great hunter and fisherman. His brother is 102 years old.

Robert Sixbury died on the 23d instant, at the house of his son, Isaac Sixbury in the town of Le Ray, Jefferson county, N.Y., at the age of 110 years and 7 months.
Mr. Sixbury had acquired great reputation as a hunter on John Brown’s tract, in northern New York, where he had slain over 2200 deer. When past eighty years of age he met with an accident, which necessitated the amputation of one of his legs, and he assisted the country doctor to perform the operation without flinching. The funeral was attended by several of Mr. Sixbury’s children, aged between 80 and 90 years. The deceased had enjoyed comparatively good health up to the day of his death.
