Mrs. Margaret Sigsbee Dead
Respected Resident of Davenport Passes Away, Monday
Margaret Warner, widow of George W. Sigsbee, died Monday, May 15th on White Hill, town of Davenport of pneumonia, after a week’s illness.
Mrs. Sigsbee was born in Prattsville, Greene county, January 28, 1859, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John Warner. In 1875 she was united in marriage with George W. Sigsbee.
About twenty years ago the family moved to this vicinity where they have since resided.
Surviving her are six daughters, Mrs. Frank Hitchcock of West Oneonta, Mrs. George Hotaling of Binghamton, Mrs. Henry Baker of Albany and Mrs. Sorn Callums, Mrs. Benjamin Tamsett and Mrs. Effie Eglinton of Oneonta, and Miss Elizabeth Sigsbee, residing at home. Three sons, Charles, Frank and Mark of Oneonta and several grandchildren also survive. She leaves one sister, Mrs. George Layman of Davenport, and a brother, Fred Warner of Binghamton.
She was a kind and loving mother and a good neighbor and faithful friend.
She was a member of the First Methodist church of Prattsville. The funeral will be held from her late home at 1 pm., Thursday, May 18. Rev. Dr. B.M. Johns will officiate. Burial will be in Plains cemetery.
