Mrs. Ella M. Sigsbee, Former Madison Clerk
Oneida-Mrs. Ella M. Sigsbee, 82 of Route 20, who served as village clerk for the Town of Madison for the past 10 years until her retirement in July died yesterday in Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton after a brief illness.
She was born in Hamilton and was married to Jason Sigsbee. He died in 1960
A lifelong resident of the Hamilton, Madison area, she had lived in Madison for the past 35 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Madison, the United Methodist Women was a charter member of the Madison American Legion Auxiliary and the Light Marine Home Bureau.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Eleanor) __? of ??? Idaho, and Mrs. Harold (Jean) Waterman of Madison; two sons, Robert of Oneida and Leonard of Oriskany Falls, and four sisters, Mrs. Hugo (Anne) Riesel of Herkimer, Mrs. John (Catherine) Murray of Whitesboro, Mrs. Gerald (Marie) King of Hamilton, and Mrs. John (Alice) Hickey of Utica.
The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow from the Beecvher-Burgess Funeral Home, Hamilton, with burial in the Madison Village Cemetery.
