This page started as a page for the last reunion of the 1947 Drury class...but now has evolved into an archives of sorts for North Adams Schools for grade school pictures,high school yearbooks,reunion pictures,graduation exercises, news clippings,and school memories. Please send me any news,pictures or whatever you would like to see posted here!
Shirley Ann Phelps Bruso, Passed away on January 23rd 2008 in Puyallup Washington. Shirley was born in North Adams Massachusetts a town that she loved dearly. Proceeded in death by her husband Walter Edward Bruso, sisters Nancy Eva Phelps Hunt, Ruth Jean Phelps Gardzina, Brother, Clifton Homer Phelps and parents Clifton Homer Phelps Sr. and Ruth Arnott Hyde. Her children Susan Ruth Bruso Campbell (Ken Campbell), Wayne Peter Bruso, Walter Edward Bruso Jr., Mary Ellen Bruso Aguayo (Emilio Aguayo), James Alan Bruso, and grand children: David Campbell, Brian Campbell (Heather R), Jason Campbell, Erlinda Aguayo Siwulec (Chris Siwulec), Chacoy Aguayo, Emilio Jr. Aguayo, Joseph Aguayo, Anthony, Savannah, Dawn, Christopher, Todd Valentine (Brionne) and great grand children Tyler Campbell, Braden Campbell, Tyse Aguayo, Latisha, Esperansa, Isabel, Emma, Lorena, Carson Siwulec, Cameron Abby Siwulec, Orion Valentine survive her. Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Shirley will be missed by all that know her, she was the kind of person that would do anything for her friends and family and is an inspiration/role model for many people. Shirley was an avid genealogist a hobby that she loved to do. Shirley was also an avid Webmaster logging many hours on the computer often times in the wee hours of the morning working on her pages as she called them, sharing her knowledge, photographs, post cards and genealogy information on the web. There are no services planned and the family wishes in lieu of Cards and Flowers for you to make a donation to a charity of your choice in Shirley's honor.

Photographs showing spectacular examples of the recent revitalization of North Adams can be seen on a new website launched by Public Television (PBS), in conjunction with the network's February 25 national broadcast of "Downside UP", the critically acclaimed movie by city native Nancy Kelly. The movie premiered at MASS MoCA last year, and is part of a new series called "Independent Lens." The North Adams photos on the website are the work of Joe Manning, author of "Steeples" and "Disappearing Into North Adams. ! HERE is the wec site with pictures and information about the movie!
CROOKED LAKE Menu 1950's...Did you go there after your Senior Prom or any other time? Did you set your car speedometer back before you made the trip?? (Like someone I know)With the help of a friend I have found a web page with a picture and some hitory of the Hotel...or House as it is called. THE CROOKED LAKE HOUSE. The Hotel is in Averill Park a hamlet of the Town Sand Lake, Rensselaer County, NY and south of Albany, NY. The Historical Society in Sand Lake sent me an old postcard image of the Hotel....which I have added. POSTCARD of the Hotel and a bit of History from the Sand Lake Historical Society. Another postcard of the Hotel about 1929.
