HYDE, Herbert Clarence....born January 18,1868 in Lawrence,Massachusetts, the son of William Hyde and Eliza (Haynes) Hyde. he attended Lawrence schools, but at an early age apprenticed( seven years) to be a sketchmaker in the cotton mills. He married Harriet Reeves Warren in Lawrence on October 16,1895. He worked in mills in Lawrence, Fall River, Massachusetts, Manchester, Nashua and Dover,New Hampshire and lastly the Arnold Print Works in North Adams,Massachusetts,where he worked as a sketchmaker in the engraving department. The family moved to North Adams in 1916 and lived on 86 Hathaway Street. HYDE,William,....William HYDE sailed to the USA from England on an unknown (as yet) date. He was living in England in 1851 Census. But he was married to Eliza HAYNES on December 18, 1854 by a Methodist minister in Lawrence, Massachusetts. By 1859, he was back in England . He had a daughter born there and he is listed in the 1861 English census.He is back to USA by 1863. He returned to England to visit sometime between 1868 and 1878.In an account about her life, Harriet Warren Hyde said about the Hyde family,in March 1891 all but Herbert went to England and returned in September. HYDE, Samuel.....Weaver, was a Soldier when he married Mary GRIMSHAW, January 16, 1808 in the Manchester Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire County, England. He joined the Army at age 18 in 1806 and was discharged in 1816 in London as the result of being wounded at the "Battle of Waterloo". Upon leaving the Army he traveled back to Manchester from London and back to family life. By 1841 he was working as a Lockkeeper on the Rochdale Canal.
