  • SUCCESS!! Both Linda and I received a letter from Maurice Whalen (92 years young)..this is part of what he said...."I spent three years and six months on Mt Greylock -April l934 to September 1937- assigned as Educational Adviser to the 107th Company- I knew very well the officers and foremen as well as most of the enrollees who were in the camp during that period The Old Pics of the 107th company, CCC, taken by Howard William McDonald are terrific."....."Moe" said that the first time he drove to the Camp he became stuck partway...he used to go down to a town on Saturday night and pick up one of the Jesuits who would hold a service on Sunday...the men were taught by showing them what to do the job and taught discipline by example....
