A few tips in using Adobe Acrobat Reader:
1. Since you must use Adobe Acrobat Reader to access these files, it is probably best to familiarize yourself with the features of this program as you use it. For example, after opening a PDF file, you may want to experiment with the scroll and zoom features. The image will initially appear "far away" and difficult to read. By zooming in on the page (to selection the zoom feature, click on the magifying glass), you can really get "up close and personal!"
2. You might want to save the file(s) to disk then open up Adobe Acrobat Reader and search the files this way. By doing this, you will avoid dealing with internet speeds, which are wildly undependable. I strongly suggest this method.
3. One of the nicest features of Adobe Acrobat Reader is it's print feature. You will be able to print the pages as if they came right out of the book--crisp, clean and beautifully formatted. In fact, I encourage you to print whatever you need. You might want to print the Surname Index to use as a handy reference guide to the entire volume.
