Mrs. [Hattie E. TALLMAN/SCARLETT] WHITMORE Dies 17 Hours After Funeral of Husband 

Just 17 hours after funeral services were held for her husband, the late James A. WHITMORE, 76, of Severance passed away at the Weld County hospital. She died at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral arrangements are being made at the Richards Mortuary in Windsor. 

Her husband passed away Wednesday October 17 at the Veterans Hospital in Cheyenne. His funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Windsor.

 Mrs. WHITMORE was seriously ill at the hospital in Greeley at the time of her husband's death. 

She is survived by two sons, Harvey and Bruce WHITMORE of Severance and by two grandchildren and by two brothers, Dan WHITMORE and Alonzo WHITMORE . There are two stepchildren, Mrs. G.C. [Amy SCARLETT] HOLLOWAY of Grand Junction and Harland SCARLETT of Olathe [CO].

TALLMAN - At West Schuyler, Jan. 12th, 1883, SARAH, wife of Giles TALLMAN and  daughter of John and the late Mary E.  Anderson, aged 38 years and 7 months. 

Funeral Monday, the 15th, from her late residence at 11 o'clock, and from the church on Schuyler Hill at 12. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend.

Jude Bradford Tallman, son of Diocleason & Elizabeth TALLMAN  born July 23, 1851 N.Y. Apr 30 1857 came with parents Iowa.  Landed Davenport & settled Dixon living there nine years.  Moved Cedar Co. Mar 1, 1860.  Dec 1868 family moved to Guthrie Co. by covered wagon settling farm in Highland Twp.  School teacher age 17. After taught 2 years attended Iowa City.  Then taught 8 years.  Married Maggie SHEETS Aug 22 1874. 1 child Archie born  Sept 20 1876. She died Mar 12, 1878.  Married Mary A BERRY. Born 9 children Nancy E Morgan, I. Clyde Walter, of West Point & Dr. Gail Addison of Reaise, Indiana.  lived Highland 4 yrs, then Seeley Twp.  Feb 1882 joined Christian Church Seeley Twp. which helped organize.  All children living, 34 gdc., 11 great. 

Died Feb 28, 1932 at home of J. C. Tallman.  She died Oct 13, 1919.  Funeral Christian Church.

C Walter Tallman son of Jude Bradford and Mary Berry TALMAN [sic] born May 15, 1892 Guthrie County. Married Margaret N VANDEUERY  Nov 5, 1927. 

Died Craft Care Center, Panora, Dec 9, 1979 age 87,, 6m 24 d. 

Most of life farmed Guthrie Center area.

Preceded by 3 sons Henry, Gerald and Dennis.  4 sisters Nancy MORGAN, Gail ADDISON, MD, Carrie ALLEN and Jennie Slaybaugh and 4 brothers Clyde, Claude, Clem and Roy and parents.  Survived by wife, 2 daughters Marilyn M HANSEN of Carlisle, Shirley A LAHM  of Des Moines, 7 sons Charles R. of Denver.  Donald M of Sacramento, Darrell D of Salem, Oregon, Jack N of Des Moines, Norman L. of  Lincoln, Nebraska, Jim C of Stuart and Bill J of Alliance, Neb. , 16 gdc, 2 great gdc.

Funeral 1st Christian Church.   Interment Union Cemetery.
