DEAD ENDS

DO THESE SELFS BELONG TO YOU?

The difference between Loose Ends and Dead Ends is that a "Loose End" is an individual or a family group with no known ancestry while a "Dead End" is an individual or group for which there are no listed descendants. In some cases, an entry may fit both categories, so you may find duplication in these unique sections.

At present, "Dead Ends" contain marriages for which no offspring are recorded. In the future, we may also begin to compile individuals who were born but then seemed to vanish without a trace.

Click on the appropriate link below to search for Selfs and allied surnames that may be related to you. We would appreciate hearing from you if you find your ancestors and/or relatives in these pages or if you have any information to offer.

We would like to add to our records any and all descendants of the couples listed here, names and dates, to the present day. All information concerning living persons will be kept confidential--we would just like our files to be as complete as possible for future generations.

We have included here the marriages of Selfs and Self descendants of allied surnames. It's our intention to stop at the year 1920 (last available Census year) so that the likelihood of including living persons is extremly small. In some cases, though, we have had to apply a "20 year from birth" rule where the actual dates are unknown. If we have listed any couple who married after 1920, please let us know. In addition, some locations are approximate.
