Still searching for info on parents/siblings for my ggg gf ZACHARIAH CLINTON,
b. 1795 in SC.
The first good record I have is the marr. record dated 18 Nov 1821, Hopkins
Co. KY, when he marr. SARAH HANKS. They stayed in Hopkins Co. until late
1825, going then to Calloway Co. KY. They were in Perry Co. IL by the 1830
census, and in Jackson Co. IL by the 1840 census. They stayed in Jackson
Co. until they died; Zach in 1859 and Sarah in 1861.
SARAH was the dau of JOHN HANKS JR. & CHARITY (GATLIN?). ZACH & SARAH'S
oldest son, JOHN B. CLINTON, my gg gf, was marr. to 1. MARY ANN DAVIS,
dau of PHILIP DAVIS & MARGARET LOGAN, 2. ELIZABETH JANE PORTERFIELD JENKINS,
3. HEULDAH J. SCHOLL RICHARDSON. He died in 1866 - was a county judge in
Jackson Co. for about 10 yrs prior to his death.
Any help appreciated since I am at a dead end at Zachariah. Thanks Joanne
