Subject: Re: WW-II prison camps From: charles and ginny urban Date: February 14, 1999 When I was a kid in Ashland, KY, I used to go down to the train station to watch the prison trains arrive on their way to Fort Campbell. The security was very lax because those German prisoners wouldn't have gone back to Germany if we had chipped in to buy them a ticket. However, one of them got ambitious, mingled with the crowd, and slipped away. He spoke perfect English, had some American money, and might have pulled it off if he hadn't gone into a grocery store and ordered a liter of milk.
