For South Carolina, the State Archives has THE OFFICIAL ROSTER OF SOUTH
CAROLINA SOLDIERS, SAILORS AND MARINES IN THE WORLD WAR, 1917-1918 and THE
OFFICIAL ROSTER OF SOUTH CAROLINA SERVICEMEN AND SERVICEWOMEN IN WORLD WAR
II, 1941-1945. They also have COMBAT CONNECTED NAVAL CASUALTIES WORLD WAR
II BY STATES, VOLUME II, SOUTH CAROLINA. You may also want to check the
National Archives in Washington DC and the SE branch in GA. On the local
level, many counties have copies of discharges and other service records.
They are kept at the Courthouse here in York Co., SC.

I'm writing from the Historical Center of York County. For all the list
readers----if you have research requests regarding information on York
County or ancestros from York County, feel free to contact us. We have a
large portion of the York County Court Records, The Hart Papers (over 75,000
