The deed listed below describes property in NC that belonged to an Isaac
Windham who died intestate in Bladen Co., NC in 1820. But most of the people
on the deed are from Darlington Dist. area of SC. Does anyone have any
information on any of these people? Any help would be appreciated....Harry

This indenture made the 12th Feb. in the year of our Lord 1823 by & between
Elias WINDHAM of the State of South Carolina for himself & attorney in fact
for James PONDER, Daniel WINDHAM, David (Daniel?) SANSBURY, Timothy HICKSON,
Daniel WINDHAM, Jr., Silas CARTER (Giles?), John WINDHAM, Elizabeth DUBOIS,
Anthony WINDHAM, Dave WINDHAM, Jemima WINDHAM, Thomas MARVEL (Mercer?) & Jeff
(Jesse?) WINDHAM of the one part & James ANDERSON of Bladen County State of
North Carolina of the other part- Witnesseth: that the said Elias WINDHAM for
himself and for Attorney for others as aforesaid, for & in consideration of
the sum of Seventy five dollars to him the said Elias WINDHAM in hand paid at
& before the sealing and delivering of these presents hath given & granted,
bargained & sold and by these presents do give grant bargain & sell unto James
ANDERSON aforesaid a certain piece of land situated in the county of Bladen
State of North Carolina and bounded as follows. On the South West side of
Harrison's creek beginning at a pine on the east side of the lake bay and runs
So. 16 E 60 chs - to __ pines then 78 E 60 chs then N 18 W60 chs. then direct
to the beginning - containing 299 acres more or less - which pieces of land
was patented by John OVELLA and by sold by Wm. STANLY, sheff. for taxes and
afterwards reverted to the State & patented again by Isaac WINDHAM which piece
or parcel of land with all its appurtenances privileges & advantages in any
wise belonging thereunto the said Elias WINDHAM & others aforesaid to warrant
& defend unto the said James Andrews his heirs and assigns forever against the
lawful claim or claims of any person or persons claiming under these - In
witness whereof the said Elias WINDHAM  for himself & Attorney for the
aforesaid others do hereunto set his hand & seal the day & year first above
written.
