Subject: William Woods (Born 1792 in NC) Spouse: Elizabeth From: Brett Woods Date: June 05, 1999 My Woods query for the weekend: Does anyone have a clue as to what family a William Woods, born ABT 1792 in NC descends? William shows up on the 1860 Spartanburg County SC census (Fort Prince P.O.) with a wife named Elizabeth born ABT 1791, also in NC. There are no Woodses whatsoever on the 1850 Spartanburg County Census, and the only Woods "head of household" on the 1860 Spartanburg County Census are this William, and my elusive gggrandfather Henry J. Woods (b NC 1826). As both William and Henry, seemingly from nowhere, appear in Spartanburg SC in time for the 1860 Census, and they both were born in NC, perhaps they are somehow connected? Or perhaps it it just another coincidence. Thanks for any help. Brett F.
