Here we go again with those mysterious Williams of the DODD family!

 From "Implied S.C. Marriages, Vol. III  1671 - 1791" by Barbara Langdon, p 140:

DODD, Margery (Margarett) (daughter of William DODD) to Samuel LOWLE 
(LOWLE of Colleton Co.), Volume coded B, pp 226-7  lived 1725

Now I am embarrassed to say that I forgot to copy the codes for the newspapers.

However, There was also a John DODD living in the Charleston area in 
the mid 1750s-70s who seems to have been a gunsmith.

Does anyone have any further information on these lowland 
pre-revolutionary DODDs?
