I don't know. I descend from William Wilkinson of NC, son of John and
Elizabeth -?- Wilkinson of PA, and Elizabeth -?- through their daughter
Mary [Elizabeth] who m2 Owen Conerly.

If you have/have access to the book WILKINSON AND KINDRED FAMILIES, you
can follow me on this. MMW said that William of NC was married to
Elizabeth Jackson, dau/o Isaac Jackson and Mary Miller of PA and Orange
Co., NC which isn't correct. Further, he stated that William and
Elizabeth had 3 daughters, Mary, Rebecca, and Catherine. He was only
partially correct here.

Yes, they did have Mary who married Owen and Rebecca who married his
brother Luke. After the death of William, Elizabeth m2 Mark Russell and
Catherine was a child of the second marriage. Catherine m1 Patrick
McAlpin in NC and they had 3 sons; Patrick d Marion Co., MS., and
Catherine m2 Calvin Magee, Baptist minister.

William and Elizabeth also had two sons: James McCaleb Wilkinson who was
in Pike Co., AL., in 1853. Don't know when he arrived there but am in
contact with a couple of his descendants. Either could probably furnish
you with additional information re this son.

The second son was Jehu Wilkinson, Jr., who was in McLean Co., IL., in
1853. And that is the extent of our knowledge of this one.

We found the proofs for the four children of William at Franklin, St.
Mary Parish, LA., in the probate files of Samuel Wilkinson, half-brother
to Wm., and Jehu Wilkinson, full brother to Wm. Don't have a copy of all
the probate file of Uncle/Doctor/Judge Jehu but todate we've found
nothing there re Jehu, Jr., other than his place of residency in 1853.
[In 1835 or soon thereafter, when the estate of Samuel was being settled,
no one knew the whereabouts of Jehu, Jr., and he was presumed dead.

There was a descendant of James McCaleb Wilkinson in AL who bore the
names of JOHN OWEN CONERLY (or a spelling variation) WILKINSON. Think
there was also a JOHN OWEN CONERLY WILKINSON -?-.
