Greetings from South Carolina. I believe there is an error in this. This
Mechanicsville is almost certainly Mechanicsville, SC (not GA) since it
was/is in the vicinity of Cashway/Cashaway/Cashua Ferry and Darlington, SC
(Darlington Co.). They surely didn't go from Darlington Co. to Georgia & back
to Darlington Co. LOL-- it really was a hard trip.
Thanks for the post. It's hard to imagine what a trip would have been like
back then.
