We have a Woodmen of the World marker in a Howard family cemetery in
Georgia, am I correct in thinking it was a mutual provident society or now
known as an Insurance company?

Re Fields:

My paternal gmother was Mary Elizabeth Fields Sutton, b.4-12-1885,
d.10-30-1932. Married my gfather, George Franklin Sutton, b. 1-10-1864,
d. 11-14-1943 in 1906. Both are buried in the Cedar Creek Baptist
Church Cemetery, Bishopville, S.C.

Mary Elizabeth Fields Sutton, was the daughter of Alexander Sylkirk
"Sandy" Fields, b. 9-20-1856, d. 3-20-1914, and Frances Gamewell
Alexander Fields, b. 2-17-1863, d. 3-5-1926. Both are buried at the
Newman Swamp United Methodist Church, with a "Woodmen of the World",
grave marker, in Lee Co., S.C.

"Sandy" Fields was the son of Ira Bright Fields and Nan Maria Parnell
Fields.

Any connections?
