I'm an SAR on many forebears.My great, great grandfather had three children
outside of marriage; while he supported these children (they lived with him
untill he became too old) he never formally or legally acknowledged them
which is no problem for me as I desc. one of his three wives.  A friend of
mine descs. one of his three "outside" sons, and both sides of the family
know we are kin and how, and both sides share two Patriot ancestors.  In the
DAR and, or SAR, can all descendats join on a known forebear, or only the
legit descs? The only son to have a bastadry bond is the first one, and on
it there is no father's  name, just his agreement to support him.  Jim.
