Subject: Unacceptable sources From: John Spraberry Date: January 09, 2000 Dear Margaret, I certainly sympathize with trying to trace a difficult line. Some people have a easy time tracing their lines and do not understand how difficult it can be sometimes and one is happy to have a lead of any kind that might prove to be valid when checked out. My grandfather, Willie Bryan DuBose was a child of the first marriage of LouEllen Bryan to ????????DuBose. He was born 1867 and his parents were seperated by the 1870 census. The courthouse burned 2 times in Choctaw County Ala and the few early records they do have I am told noone is allowed to see them as they are locked up somewhere in a state of dissarray. OF all marriage records published for Ala. you never see any for Choctaw County. Makes it rather difficult to research. I would be thrilled to have any information from another source, "acceptable" or not to check out for myself.
