Dear Margaret,
I certainly sympathize with trying to trace a difficult line. Some
people have a easy time tracing their lines and do not understand how
difficult it can be sometimes and one is happy to have a lead of any
kind that might prove to be valid when checked out. My grandfather,
Willie Bryan DuBose was a child of the first marriage of LouEllen Bryan
to ????????DuBose. He was born 1867 and his parents were seperated by
the 1870 census. The courthouse burned 2 times in Choctaw County Ala and
the few early records they do have I am told noone is allowed to see
them as they are locked up somewhere in a state of dissarray. OF all
marriage records published for Ala. you never see any for Choctaw
County. Makes it rather difficult to research. I would be thrilled to
have any information from another source, "acceptable" or not to check
out for myself.
Keep up the good work on on POWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!Beth Ann Spraberry
