Well, now I understand the problem with all these different numbers of early
SC townships. My original source referred only to townships established by
1732-- those were the original eight. New Windsor, Londonborough,
Boonesborough & Hillsborough were established afterwards. 

Thank you, Drew, for enlightening us about the additional townships. BTW, I'd
be interested in knowing the locations for the last 3. My guess is that they
were established in the upstate as the population moved inland. Would you be
so kind as to post the locations ?
