From the SC Gazette, March 17, 1759-60.

"Mr. JOHN TIMMONS of Saltcatcher, informs me of a chestnut gelding, near
14 hands high, has a blaze in his face, three white feet, a piece taken
on the left ear, and branded on the off buttock and mounting shoulder
[mark drawn in the ad.] Also, a chesnut mare, about 13 hands high, has
a colt by her side, the mare branded on the shoulder like [mark] in one,
and on the near thigh like LP in one. The owner must prove his property
before
		THOMAS HUTCHINSON"

[A Thomas Hutchinson was a justice of the Peace among various other
official duties in St. Bartholomew's Parish. He was said to have been
born in Ireland, died in 1793 at age 79. Am trying to connect him
somehow to the various HUTCHINSONs in Charleston, and to my
7Xgrandmother, MARY HUTCHINSON.]
