Can anyone help me find the parents of James Thomas (b. Oct. 14,1790 S.C.)
who married (abt.1820) Elizabeth Steele (b. 1800) and had nine children:

 Elizabeth/Eleanor J.(= a Mr. Tomlinson), James Madison (=  Hannah R.
Jones), Catherine (= Caleb Du Bose), Jessie (= Jerusha Kirby), John Nelson
(= Susannah Kirby), Margaret (= George Truluck), Martha Anne (= John
Truluck), Mary Rebecca (= Ebenezer Truluck), and Sarah Irene (= a Mr. Smoot).

James lived in Pee Dee area, then Darlington Co., then after marriage moved
to Olanta, S.C. 

James (b.1790) may be the son of Stephen Thomas (of Md.?)and Susannah Benton.

I have a lot of "downstream" people to share. Happy to supply further
datails on the children if anyone is interested.

I am descended from Fulton Courtney Thomas (1859-1922), son of James Madison.
