Subject: Re: Thomas HODGES, father of Jesse Monroe HODGES From: Joyce McManus Date: July 22, 2000 Ken, Maybe your circumstances are as my husband's. His gg grandfather died in 1840s leaving three young sons still at home. Their mother had died in 1836/37. He had remarried in 1839, but I don't know what happened to his second wife. However, she did not have the three sons after his death because each of them shows up on the 1850 census in their two sisters' and one brother's homes. So maybe Thomas is John's brother living with him. Just a thought. Good luck!
