Thank you Ken and Gerry!!

One of Thomas HODGES' - b. 1755 Cheraw District, SC - grandsons was named
Charles Monroe b. 1819. This Charles had a Charles Monroe Jr. born 1850 and
another son named William Berry Drury b. 1855. (The Berry came from
Harriet Scott BERRY, their mother.)

Another of Thomas' grandsons was named Drury Robertson b. 1825, after a
Drury Robertson - a neighbor of Thomas' in SC. Why would Jesse Monroe
HODGES name a son this after he and his wife had left SC abt 1813 for parts
midwest >TN>IN>OH>MO and 1847 west to OR?? The namesake nor any of his
descendants were likely ever to know.

I'm struck by the name "Drury" also. It doesn't appear in any of my
collateral lines. And now it appears combined with "Charles" (below).
It seems to be associated with the HODGES surname far more often than any
other I'm aware of. Ah,, the vagaries of gene digging.
