Mr. Coker,

 I was born in Chester and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, and have lived
in
Charleston off and on since 1955.  Likewise my various family lines are spread
throughout the State and most have been here for 200-300+ years.  My 5GGF got
his start with a land grant of 300 acres fronting on SeeWee Bay just the north
of Charleston.  I graduated from the University of South Carolina and only
recently discovered Caroliniana Library (youth, electrical engineering, and 23
years in the Navy kept me away).  I've just joined  the SC Historical Society.
And have spent some time reading ancestor's wills and other documents in the
SC Room of our local library.

I thank you for the information you have shared on the SC list.  Some people
would complain if they were "hanged with a new rope".  Would that I had some
of the source information you have put on the list when I started wandering
the web about a year ago looking for family information.  It literally would
have saved me months of time.
