Is anyone researching Sweargenin/Swearingen or Hatcher in the
Trenton/Pine House area of Edgefield District, South Carolina, in the
early 1800's? Looking for parents of Frances Hatcher who is suppose to
have married Alfred Hatcher b. 1800 d. after 1860, son of John and
Christian/a _?_ Hatcher. One source gives theri marriage date as 1821
and one a 1841 a 20 year difference. One has to be an error of some
type.
In published will abstracts of Edgefield, 1973 bu Delwyn Associates,
page 36, the will of Vann Swearingen is written Jan. 22 and probated May
7, 1808. Wife Rachel. Children Wallace, Milley, Joel, Jidpah(?),
Moses, Van, Ely, Peggy, FRANCIS, John, and Ancel. Excr: Thomas
Swearingen, Frederick, Swearomgem & Ezekial McClendon Wit: William
Swearingen, John Swearingen, Moses Swearingen.
Is Francis a son or a daugther? Is she the person I am seeking who
married Alfred Hatcher.
