i am searching for a George Walter (Walker) THAMES, b. abt 1844-54ish in
south carolina.  (he married Mary Agnes DUDLEY in 1874 in wilmington,
n.c.)

a copy of the new hanover county, n.c. 1880 federal census states that
George W. THAMES' birthplace as well as that of his father and mother
were all in south carolina.  i am guessing that his father's birth date
could be around 1809ish.  i do not have George W. Thames' father's name,
or his mother's name.

does any of this ring even a tiny bell with anyone?  this, so far, is
all that i have on these folks.  i sure would appreciate any help.
