Hello All,
I'm trying to help a friend trace his LATHAN (& variant spelling) roots & 
hope someone on this list can help. He's seeking the parents & grandparents 
of Furman LATHAN, b. ca 1925 in Greenwood, Greenwood County, SC. My local 
library here in FL doesn't have any SC census records later than 1880 and 
I've not found any on-line for Greenwood Co. I do know that Greenwood was 
formed in 1897 from Abbeville & Fairfield counties which were both formed in 
1785 from Ninety-six District, an original county in 1769, so any records 
before 1897 would probably be in one of the parent counties. If anyone has 
any info on this family, or can point me in the right direction to find
