Subject: Suggestions for SCRoots Web Site From: Steven J. Coker Date: April 10, 1998 Eventually I hope to have lists and links posted on our new SCRoots Web site for all Probate Offices, Conveyance offices (RMC's), local archives, special collections, etc. But, there is so much to do and only my "spare time" to do it in. I'm going to send this to the Forum to see if we can get some research volunteers to help gather such data for the web site. If anyone reading this has, or can point us to, compiled addresses for various research locations around the State please respond to the Forum. I would like to gather such lists of addresses to place on our new SCRoots web site. Please check the web site and the Forum archives first to see what is already posted and known. A lot of contact information is already known and available, it will just take time and work to sit down and compile it into text files. If anyone wants to volunteer to do such compiling of information from the messages in the archives, and elsewhere, that will be appreciated also. For now, I would prefer such contributions to be made in plain text format. I will then create the HTML version for the web site. There is no rush. I can't work on it before next weekend. If you want to volunteer for such compilation work, do so by posting a message to the Forum declaring what subject you have decided to work on. This will allow others to know who to send the information to and may help avoid redundant efforts. Maybe you can even develop teams and share the work. Any useful research addresses, links, etc., that you don't find on the web site, let us know. I plan to keep adding and improving the web pages with such information as I find time and info to add. But, it will take time. So, please be patient. If you are a GenWeb Pagemaster or a Rootsweb Forum Manager with web pages about or related to South Carolina which you would like linked to the SCRoots web site, let me know. Send me a copy of the text you would like used to describe your site and the link(s) to where you want me to direct the traffic. Steven J. Coker SCRoots Forum Manager http://members.tripod.com/~SCROOTS PS I will be busy with other work most of this weekend and next week. I will have limited time for Forum work until next weekend. So everyone play nice, please. Kathy Houck wrote: > > Steve, > > EXCELLENT!
