Pages 344-345:	17 Sep. 1797, Thomas FARRAR, late Sheriff of
Pendleton Dist., Washington Dist., to Thomas STRIBLING...Whereas,
James HOUSTONwas seized of 300 acres on 23 and 26 Mile Creek, and
whereas, James JORDON obtained a judgement against James HOUSTON
for £ 40 stg., John RUTLEDGE, Esq., Chief Justice of the State,
directed Sheriff to sell all the Real Estate, Chattels, etc. at
public auction and on 1st Monday and Tuesday of March 1794, did
sell property to Thomas STRIBLING for 50 shillings as the highest
bidder.  Wit: John MAULDIN, G. W. EARLE. Geo. W. EARLE, made oath
to W. THOMPSON. Q. U., 10 Oct., 1803.
