Subject: Re: South Carolina-Look Ups- Indian From: Jan Bohler Date: April 13, 2000 Family legend says that my GGGGGrandfather Miles Jordan (pronounced Jourdan) married Mahala Blue (not sure of this spelling) in the late 1790's or first few years into 1800s. They were said to have come from the Pee Dee River area. and that Mahala was suppose to have been at least part Indian. Does any of these names mean anything to anyone. I had been told that Mahala may have been Lumbee Indian. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jan [email protected] Gail Moore wrote: Is Floyd?? > I mean a Lumbee Indian name?? > Or is Floyd a Micksucky??
