Yes, they are some records that a doctor has written out that details
treatment, etc. There
wasn't anything like that on my relative. They only wrote that he had
the delusion that his
brother and his wife was trying to defraud him out of his land. He had
sold his land to his
brother several years before he went to the asylum. He never married and
was murdered
in the asylum in 1864 at the age of 64. His murderer John Gatlin was
never prosecuted and
remained in the asylum. I don't know if he ever was released as cured. I
don't know what
SC records they have on microfilm at the Charleston library. I know it
is a lot and they are
so nice in the SC Room. I have only been there one time but I was really
impressed.
