Can anyone assist Greg Legare and me with the problem discussed in the
communications (below) which point out the supposed (Nov. 10, 1785) date of
marriage of Sarah Lining (1741-1805) and Soloman Legare (1727-1779) being
after his death date.

Sorry for the details included, but they help to understand our thinking to
date.

Edward

Edward; I looked back at the input on Sol Legare IV and Sarah Lining
and would like to offer the possibility that the m. date you have is a
typo. As we have often seen the proper time to remarry is after a year
of
morning. Sol IV's first wife died 8-19-1764 leaving him with at least
one daughter Elizabeth and possibly another Jane. Seems to me he would
marry again before 20 years. The chart that Alonzo sent me shows Sol IV
b. circa 1727, d. Living, then an additional entry immediately below of
1-26-1793 as if were entered later than the original manuscript. Can
you point me to the source of their wedding date. Thank you for the
Lining data.

 Greg Legare:

Thanks so much for the information on your revised chart. The only
>problem
is that if Soloman IV d. 1779, he couldn't have married Sarah Lining on
>the
date published (Nov. 10, 1785). Maybe a typo and it was really 1775, 0r
1765?
 Correction, anyone?
