I have a John Smith b. abt 1836 in South Carolina.

Parents: Simion Smith b. abt 1795 in SC d.? date m. Rebecca unknown b. abt
1800.
Siblings of John: David Birge (1838-1863), Sophie (abt 1824-??), Nancy (abt
1829-??), Winna (abt 1831-??), Sarah (abt 1832-??), George (abt 1842-??),
William (abt 1845-??). All were born in South Carolina.

Simion Smith is found in the 1820, 1830, and 1850 censuses of Greenville
County S.C He then ended up in Blount County, Alabama and is found in the
July 12, 1860 census of Summit in Blount County, Ala.

I am a descendant of David Birge Smith and know his descendents fairly
well. I hope this connects with your search. If so, please let me know.
