I came across this info while searching for funeral notices. Seeing this ad made me think of those searching for black ancestors and the difficulty they have. Maybe some people haven't thought to search through the old newspapers. Also, WILLS are a great source of slave info. What surnames are you looking for? I have found mullato cousins through Will info. In my family case I had an uncle that married his slave and had children. Some census records would not acknowledge the relationship and left that part blank. Would have to check further on the Slave Mkt records. Hope someone online has more info to offer. I just put things online that I think will be of interest to others when I come across them.
