Hello,
In my research, most slaves went with their parents upon the death of a
master. Slaves sometime were given the choice among the masters relatives
as to who they went to.
I have also found slave transactions in the RMC office because they were
considered property.
If you want to be sure about the slaves, check the Slave Schedule that
comes with some of the census years.
