Hugh,

I'm not personally connected (yet) to the SINGLETON family, but
while searching the USGenWeb Archives at Rootsweb, I ran into CNIDR
Isearch-cgi 1.20.06 (File: l5210001.txt), and found mention of some of the
names I AM tracking. It is the abstracted probate records of of the estate of
Henry Langford. There are some SINGLETONs mentioned there. (I'm trying to
track the origins of my GGG-grandmother, Mahala ?Springfield Newby Powell,
and found mention of both Thomas Springfield and Rev. Stephen Powell,
Mahala's second husband. )

The contributor, Effie Langford McDermitt
posted the file in 1996. While I've corresponded with Effie, I am not certain
that this is her current e-mail address. She lists SINGLETON as one of her
target families, so perhaps if she's not connected to your line, she's passed
by some of your kin while tracking her own!

Good luck! Maureen
