I too am looking for ships landing in Charleston, 1769, or thereabouts,
From Ireland. My Gggggrandfather, John Porter MCFARLAND is supposed to
have landed in Charleston about that date. He became a peddler with a
two horse rig on the frontier until the Rev. War when he enlisted. I
can put him in Ft. Nashboro, TN in 1781, but find no documentation of
his landing at Charleston or ANY documentation prior to 1781, except his
Rev. War enlistment and his NC Land Grant for service in Rev. War. If
someone can help with ships landing in Charleston I would appreciate
it. Or, if anyone has any suggestions at to where I might look for
documentation of his being in S.C. prior to the Rev. War, I would
appreciate that suggestion.

Thanks for any help offered.
