Does anyone know of any location where ships manifests of emigrants to 
the port of Charleston may be located.  I have found some lists of aliens 
in several books by Brent Holcomb, but he only lists the date of entry 
and the city from which they came, but not port from which they sailed. I 
have one in 1796 and another in 1823. Corresponding microfilms show only 
head of family. There is nothing I have found wthich shows the names of 
family members who came along.  This info seems to be available for 
Phildelphia, Baltimore and other ports, and may be available for 
Charleston also. I may not be looking in the right place.

Also, is there to anyone's knowledge any kind of record of the FIRST ship 
that came into Charleston in 1670?  Through some real estate records I 
have located a possible ancestor who was on that ship. There is a 
landgrant from the Lord's Proprietors which actually mentions that he was 
on the first ship.A manifest naming other family members who were aboard 
would help me begin the process of tying the family together.  The very 
prospect is very exciting to me, and I would really love to be able to 
prove this connection.
