People aas for information regarding certain ships going and coming to America and then a researcher or someone who knows replys. I found it so interesting that I was reading everything constantly, and had to get off the list to concentrate of my research. They may be able to tell you what ships were coming from Ireland about 1772. Since you know the name of the ship, I think you are in luck. This family ended up in the area of what would become Kershaw County, with many of them still in the area today.
