I'm no more Native American than I am Protestant Irish, Catholic French,
German, Swiss, Scot, English, Welch, or Italian; I'm no one of these, yet I
am, in part, all of them. They are all my heritage. My Native American
tribe is Kaskaskia Illiniweck, Ayw-wee-pah-kee-noo-kah, ie., Mme. Catherine
E8ipakin8ca Colon, wife of Canadian voyageur, Jean Baptiste Colon dit La
Violette (both died old up-river, defunct, Mobile, Ala.). They had 1698,
Fort Kaskaskia, Illimois Military District, my Mme. Henriette Colon Rochon
who's godfather was Gov. Henri de Tontey, and her twin brother, Henri
Colon's godfather was Capt. Antoine de Tontey. I'm very much interested in
the South Carolina "Cassiques", both Native American chiefs and
Euro-American nobles. Ne-p8-pa-t8-8a, ie Walkslowly, Charlotte, N.C.
