Now we need to subscribe to NC and also SC as well as keeping NC/SC
to make sure that we don't miss anyone or any messages. So following
the split, I need to send the same message to all three lists??? That
seems like it should be much more work for the host computers having to
handle three times the volume.
Good Afternoon,
I do not intend to subscribe to two more lists. It boggles my mind
why something that has worked well over the past several months should
be "fixed". We've seen the ROBINSON-L list broken down into two lists,
one ROBERTSON-L and the other ROBINSON-L when experienced knew
only too well that those surnames had several variations in spelling. I was
even unsubscribed by the ROBERTSON-L listowner because he claimed
I violated his "order" not to ever mention ROBINSON on "his" list. I guess
every country have their petty tyrants. Robertson-L listing has theirs.
Quite a number of my ancestors migrated south from Virginia
through the Carolina's. Some moved on, first into Georgia or Tennessee
and then west or northwest. The surnames of of Robertson, Greathouse,
Hall, and Wood ended up in southern Illinois. Another line, MILLS, went
From Virginia down to South Carolina and then up into Ohio. We were a
nation in flux and in the process our surnames were spelled in many ways.
No, I do not intend to add to the 18 lists I already subscribe to.

I agree with you Bob. I have decided I will no longer subscribe to new lists
that duplicate already existing ones. Perhaps Rootsweb should set up a
committee to review all new requests for lists to see if there is a real
need for it before wasting their resources on them.
