Searching for Thomas Pemble - Thehyslops

Hello all,

Just returned last evening from a week long trip to South Carolina. A week
just isn't enough. I was researching the following families:

	1. GRAY and DE WALT near Newberry - found the family graveyard

	2. JOHNSON (John) and wife Abigail FOWLER JOHNSON.... found their graves at
the Second Presbyterian Church in Charleston.

	3. BALTZEGAR (Elizabeth) - actually there are two Elizabeths..... Elizabeth
KEES (or Keys or Keis) who married John Baltzegar and Elizabeth Baltzegar who
married Thomas PEMBLE. This happened in Orangeburgh.

	4. PEMBLE (Thomas) .... I am searching desperately for more on Thomas
PEMBLE who married Elizabeth Baltzegar. I found that they had married in an
old family Bible that started with the information on their marriage. I am
stumped as to who he is..... I can find nothing on him. He wasn't an
Orangeburgh local, or if so he shows up nowhere. I have found an elderly
relative who was hunting for him (Thomas Pemble) more than 20 years ago and
never could get anywhere. I would like to solve this for him and now for
myself as well. If anyone knows anything about any PEMBLE prior to about 1800
I would appreciate it.... Thomas and Elizabeth had three children according to
the Bible..... James David born in 1794 (who later only went by David - my
ancestor) and Elizabeth and William George born 1798 (who appear to be twins).

We visited the Strom Thurmon library at Clemson (we were staying about 30
minutes away from there at Westminster), State Archives at Columbia,
Caroliniana Library at Columbia, Historical Society on Meeting Street in
Charleston and Charleston Library. Each of these places has so much and one
week was just not enough.

Once again, if anyone can tell me anything about Thomas PEMBLE I would be so
thankful!
