Bob,

I processed the 1820 Amite county, MS census from photocopies within three
days, and I was being lazy! I did this one on my own because I was looking
for my own folks, and stumbled upon some I didn't realize were there! I
donated it to the project because it was not posted yet. My cousin was my
proofreader.

I think that if we were all to pitch in, the records will all be online in
no time flat. FTM has the 1850 images online, and Ancestry has quite a few
1790, 1900, and some 1920 images online. Anyone with access to the images
could proofread from those! That puts quite a few folks in a position to
help without having to leave their homes at all. It would take nothing away
From either site because those of us who still "have to see it for
themselves" would still find a way to view the images, either through our
libraries, our own subscriptions to those sites, or through any other source
such as NARA.

Tina, No contest.
You are right.
But do the math-you indicate working on 7 or 8 counties.
Count all the counties and the multiply every ten years since 1790 plus all
the 'State or 'Special census'.
We love volunteers, but we can't count on them for the whole census records
unless we want to wait a few thousand years.
Sorry about your toes, and mine!
Bob
