Subject: SCRoots Taglines From: Steven J. Coker Date: March 31, 1998 The lines at the bottom of every SCRoots message beginning "==== SCROOTS Mailing List ====" are called "taglines." They are selected at random from a collection of 10 prepared taglines. Every message distributed to the SCRoots forum has one of these taglines automatically added to the message. The taglines are not selected based on the content of any given message or sender. Among other things the taglines are intended to: a. Indicate the message is an SCRoots Forum message. b. Remind users of certain Forum policies and guidelines. c. Remind users who the Forum Manager is and how to contact him. d. Remind users of certain useful Internet sites and information. e. Minimize the workload on the Forum Manager regarding Frequently Asked Questions. f. Help new subscribers understand how the Forum operates. Comments or suggestions regarding taglines or other Forum operation matters should be sent to the Forum Manager for consideration. Steven J.
