My brother and I just returned from a trip to Charleston and
Savannah doing a little family research. One very useful thing that we found
at the Georgia Historical Society in Savannah was a system set up by the WPA
to search newspapers for names that appeared in them. It really worked out
great for us in filling out a blank period of time for my Great Grandfather
after the Civil War. I was wondering if the WPA did anything similar in
South Carolina.
